Nurses become aged care champions

home3A new education program designed to improve the care of older people admitted to hospital is being implemented by the North Coast Area Health Service (NCAHS) in conjunction with Southern Cross University.

Ms Anne Moehead, NCAHS nurse practitioner in psycho-geriatrics said senior nurse managers had identified the need to develop ‘champions’ because of the growing demand on acute care services from an ageing population.
