The NSW Health Rural Adversity Mental Health Program, in collaboration with Social Futures, are delighted to offer this training to people of Murwillumbah and surrounding communities.
This course is funded by the Community Recovery Fund for flood affected communities.
The course covers helping people in mental health crisis situations and/or in the early stages of mental health problems, including those people exposed to traumatic events or intoxicated with substances.
Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.
What to bring to the course?
A willingness to learn more about supporting someone experiencing a mental health crisis and a desire to reduce stigma associated with mental ill health.
Free of Charge. Numbers are strictly limited so register early.
Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon tea are provided at no cost for both days.
